Trying Something New: Macrame Workshop

There's a new trend in the craft world and it's called Macrame. Like me you've probably seen it all over Instagram, so when I saw a beginners workshop I signed myself up! In a nutshell it involves a ball of yarn, cord or in our case recycled shredded T-shirts and A LOT of knotting.

If you were any good at making friendship bracelets back in the day then this is the craft for you!

The course was run by the very lovely Jen Sharp of Stitch Up (@stitch_up) - definitely worth a follow on Twitter and Instagram! She runs a variety of craft workshops in and around Leeds and it shows, she got all 10 beginner macramers to complete a hanging basket in a 2 hour class AND with time to spare!

Here's a little peek... doughnuts and all!

Here's a few of my fave macrame accounts on Insta: @createaholic @macramemumma @modernmacrame Also, check out this account @whimsy_woods she has some tiny macrame wall hangings in her bespoke modern doll houses. Cute right!
